Pet Insurance
We are DEFINITELY getting for new puppy -- I spent so much $$ on Ebs that this is a no-brainer.
Do you have it and if so, which company do you use? Comments? Thanks...

Re: Pet Insurance
We haven't gotten it yet, but we are going to get VIP - it seems to be the best coverage.

Re: Pet Insurance
Thanks - I've just been looking at the old threads (NOW is when that feature finally comes in handy!) and am going to look at the Petco one. DH can get VPI throguh work but guess what -- SAME price as if you got it on your own. Uh THanks NY&Co.!

Re: Pet Insurance
Be very careful with the Petco one, I have heard it doesn't cover major things - which is what you want it for.

Re: Pet Insurance
I have VPI, my brother has petcare...I still do not know which is better coverage. Although my brother was so happy he got it, bc his pup ended up being pretty sick, and he got a lot of $$ back.

Re: Pet Insurance
Daniela I don't think I would do that -- maybe just stop paying for routine insurance but stay covered for anything over shots and routine visits. Your dogs are still young. Over his lifetime, I probably spent over $30,000 on Ebs. And he was in great shape!! You just never know what might happen....you hope nothing does but just in case.....

I know. Thanks for your thoughts, we have been talking a lot about this since insurance is up in Jan. We weighed it out. The problem is that we get almost nothing back... when the boys had kennel cough a few months back, we got nothing -- and we have the most expensive, premium plan. I am terrified of what would happen if God forbid they get really sick -- esp since I would do everything we could to help them -- but so far, our insurance has disappointed us.

Really?
We have VPI, and when Austin had pnemonia, we got back almost all the $ we paid for overnight hospital care foe a whole week. You never know. Maybe just change the plan you're on.

I have it and have been very pleased with the amount of coverage compared to VPI(which I had for 2 years). VPI's routine care is not worth the extra $$$ IMO. Petcare covers NY vet rates where as VPI gives you what they feel is a fair payment. I would highly recommend Petcare over VPI. Just my $.02
