pet shelters?
Can you list your local LI pet shelter? I'm thinking about talking DH into getting a puppy :)

It's a shame that the Bide-A-Wee shelter is no longer in Wantagh. They were wonderful! I know they still have a shelter in Southampton if you want to take a drive out there.

YEs! I was speaking with the director over the summer and they have worked hard to basically become a no kill shelter and are very nice there

We got our dog from the shelter in West Hampton.

What kind of dog are you looking for? I just found a great english setter (pure bred) in our neighborhood w/ no collar and had to turn it into TOBAY animal shelter. Broke my heart. I call every day and no one has claimed him.
He was such a great dog and I know he will get adopted quickly. I'd say he's about 4 months old.
