**UPDATE**
Night one:
-No tears at bedtime(sleeping within 20 min.)
-Was still up 3 times
BUT no crying "The monsters are getting me"
-Slept later in the morning than she has in months
Thanks for all the well wishes, I will keep you updated.

I just saw this and am happy enough to just bump it for anyone else who may not have seen it.
What an impressively fabulous idea! Had you heard about a similar kind of approach before or did you just come up with it? A million dollar tip IMO!! Perfect for DC who feels heard and understood, perfect for Mom and Dad to teach in such a loving way that fears can be overcome! And of course your welcome return to that oh so needed land of nod!

Thank you so... much, how nice of you I think I came up with it on my own, but I had other people tell me to hang signs to tell the monsters to stay away and also to make Monster stay away spray in a water bottle. I should really patent the idea and make a million because it has helped us soooooo much!
