PG Moms 35+ years old...
I married later at 35, so naturally I had my kids late - later than my "master plan" of being married by 25 with 3 kids by 30.
So here I am at 39, 20.5 weeks PG with #2 who is due just after my 40th birthday.
My pregnancies with both Abby and are pretty much running through the exact same seasons with a 2 week differential. I realize that I am 2 years older, but this pregnancy is really wiping me out all of a sudden. I COULD be in better shape but I'm hardly a mess. I am sure chasing after a toddler is contributing to my lack of energy.
I am curious to know how other older PG moms are faring or if I am the only old fart who is starting to go to bed at 9:30. Whoever said that the energy picks up in the second trimester was definitely wrong in my case

I'm 35 and am 31 weeks preggo with #3 and by 10am I am exhausted. I almost fell asleep on the couch today when my son was at preschool! I have a very active 3 and 5 year old and I'm exhausted when I am not pregnant!

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
I'm 35, due with #2 about 2 weeks before I'm 36.
I've waiting this entire pregnancy for my 2nd trimester energy to come back what a joke.
I'm convinced that only really happens with your first child. Being preggo, working and chasing after a toddler is exhausting
Yesterday I found myself sipping cold water to keep my eyes open in the middle of a session with a 5th grader I felt soooo bad, but seriously struggling to keep the eyes open.
Our new favorite game in the afternoon when ds comes off the bus is lets have a snack (apple slices) in mommy's bed

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
I had DS #1 at 35- was pretty tired and also working FT.
With DS #2, I was 37- and a stay at home Mom. I thought I would have more energy since I was not working- but the second pregnancy knocked me on my butt and I was exhausted! It got better in the second trimester- weeks 16-28 were pretty good. The third trimester was tough.
I think it was due to the physical nature of chasing/lifting a toddler rather than sittng behind a desk all day. But I do think that being 2 years older had something to do with it too.
But- the recovery from c-section #2 has been MUCH easier and better- so if you are having a repeat section-just wanted to let you know that!

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
I just turned 36 and this is my first. I was doing great for so long. No 1st tri exhaustion, no morning sickness, felt 100% like myself. Only once I got into the 3rd tri did I find myself unable to keep my eyes open past 10 pm and napping when I got home from work. I'm not sure if it's an age thing though- or just par for the course in the 3rd tri.
I also don't have a toddler to chase around!

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
I'm 36 and 16 wks with #2. Most days, I feel like I got hit by a semi.
I was 34 with DD and I recall I felt pretty much the same. The biggest difference was that I could nap when I got home or on weekends when PG with her, now I have to be up chasing her around so I think I definitely feel it more.

I hope you don't mind me responding since I am 28 but I am preg with #2 and beyond exhausted....I have a 15 month old so he keeps me busy...
Hope this offers some consolation...

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
As we're the same age.... I can tell you..
I am NOT faring well at all!!!
I LOVED every second of my pregnancy with Samantha...
This pregnancy, not so much.
I had bad nasuea from week 5 to week 18!
But that said, I think the majority of why I am barely functioning is because I have a toddler this time around I'm constantly chasing after whereas I was able to sit on my azz all day long when I was pregnant with her.
BTW Leslie - MOST nights I'm in bed immediately after Samantha is in bed.... which is 7:30 every night!

That's comforting. I will be planning a second c-section.

I'm 32 but I can tell you I am finding the second pregnancy to just be much harder in general. A toddler running around makes it a whole different ballgame than the first time.

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
My pregnancies are fairly easy - no morning sickness, no real worries, aches and pains at a minimum... nothing out of the ordinary really. But I am SOOOO FLIPPING TIRED all of the time.
I mean, sure, my life is upside down right now so that's definitely a factor, but even before that all came about I was exhausted. I think chasing DD makes it so much harder.

I was 33 with DS. I am 35 now.
I feel about the same with both PGs so far.

Re: PG Moms 35+ years old...
I will be 35 in the winter but I am definitely feeling the drain. I have a LITTLE more energy than the first trimester but I also feel huge with this pregnancy which isn't making things easier. Either way, it is a short term situation with a great end result. I will suffer through it and not try to whine too much

I was 34 with Elizabeth and 36 with Alexandra. I also felt more tired with this pregnancy especially towards the end.
