Phases and rules - Where can I get the most information
So I think i know the basic rules for each phase
Phase 4 is supposed to be basically back to normal correct? Schools and big venues can open or am I incorrect? If they can reopen are they limited to the amount of people
If phase 4 is back to normal is that the end of mask wearing?
Are the questions answered somewhere and if so can someone let me know where please?
I should note I already looked at the governors site and I feel there was no clear answer but maybe I am missing it!
Also are all the states following the same phases which were given out by the federal government or does each one have differences?

I know you said you checked the governors website, but this link lays out the phases.

Phase 4 is schools and some of the ideas of kids going back would have them with masks so I think masks would still be mandatory for some things. I don't think any state is following the same phases, at least from what I see and hear from what is open already.

Re: Phases and rules - Where can I get the most information
I think they are not really detailing stages untl we get there. They just added more detail in phase 2 today.
https://forward.ny.gov/phase-two-industries
There used to be a link to download a NY forward book, but I don't see that now.
The plan is more focused on business, so they aren't being as specific about social aspets, so thye aren't really making a call on masks yet.
Stage 4 is all activities, but it doesn't seem to necessarily mean back to normal. It could be still with restrictions. It is hard to say, when for example, you could have a wedding, with no restrictions.

Not sure how any of these are in Phase 2 as I am pretty sure most of these are 3 or 4.

yes this is what I noticed.
he is not detailing it till we get there which is just aggravating. i dont know why he cant now!
Also I noticed nothing is mentioned socially. I was happy when he finally said we can have gatherings of more than 10 people!!
I am just tying to figure out what the plan or the metrics we have to hit when we can say ok things can resume back to normal, no masks etc.
This term the new normal drives me crazy what exactly does that mean!! I dont want to accept all these new rules are always going to be around!

Phases and rules - Where can I get the most information
What I don’t get is how a mall, a casino or any other half as* place in phase 2 is important? Why can we go to a mall but schools are phase 4? Really?

I don't think malls are phase 2. I think the site is confusing. If you read it, it says the following must remain closed....and then lists malls, etc. At least that's what I saw...
Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Orders, the following businesses remain closed:
Malls; specifically, any indoor common portions of retail shopping malls with 100,000 or more square feet of retail space available for lease; however, any stores located within shopping malls, which have their own external entrances open to the public, separate from the general mall entrance (e.g. strip malls), may open; Dine-in and on-premise restaurant or bar service, excluding take-out or delivery for off-premise consumption; Large gathering/event venues, including but not limited to establishments that host concerts, conferences, or other in-person performances or presentations in front of an in-person audience; Gyms, fitness centers, and exercise classes, except for remote or streaming

At first I didn't realize it says "remain closed" either. Their site is never clear about anything. They need to work on that. I don't want to click on 12 things to find out what happens in which phase. Just give us a list like other surrounding states have!
As a side note, kayak rentals are open, and we went last night for a sunset one. It was SO amazing to do something with entertainment value outside of the usually boring crap we have been doing. AND we got to see the sunset on the water, which we can no longer do at the beach we always go to due to their asinine rules. The rental place is in Stony Brook. They disinfect the life jackets and equipment, and you have to wear a mask at the launch, but you can take it off as soon as you leave the launch area. Highly recommend it!

Stony Brook Harbor Kayak Rentals! Their schedule runs with high tide. So it changes daily. They do have a sunset kayak tonight from 6:30 to 8:30. It's very easy to book, you just text message them. You pay cash when you get there. We packed a cooler with snacks and drinks and it was seriously perfect!

Re: Phases and rules - Where can I get the most information
Agreed the site or not clear and it does not provide the information I am looking for yet.
I messaged through the governor page asking the metrics of when it will be ok not to wear masks.(don’t expect answer but figure I try) I guess I will have to wait to see exactly what phases 3 and 4 our until a region is allowed to move to it!

I bet it’ll be the last thing cuomo will stop instructing. And btw I really hope businesses read his EO in detail and stop demanding every person to wear a mask to enter their stores. Not everyone falls under this EO and by demanding everyone to do it, they’re setting themselves for possible lawsuits.

Thank u! I’ll check them out. There’s a little kayak company in my town but I doubt they’re open yet.
