Just a few to add
the tree pics are from the ice storm we had - the color pic was NOT enhanced in any way - it was just such a NICE DAY!!

It is so sad that there will be no more Coney Island. It is a land mark, especially the Cyclone. I can't believe they are going to take the roller coaster down.

i was sick to my stomach when i saw it on the news. i actually cried for a good half hour and i dont cry. so much change and not all of it is good. too much construction, something as important as coney island should be a national landmark. they should not be able to tear it down and put up townhouses. it's a tragedy.

Cyclone is staying ... and we are going the week after next!!
SUMMER The Beginning of the End
Friday, March 30, 2007
Sunday is the first day of the last year for Astroland, the Coney Island landmark and home of the Cyclone roller coaster. After that, the area’s large-scale redevelopment begins; the "2,640 feet of rattling, wheezing terror in lumber and steel" will remain, but the starter rides that lead you there — like the Tilt-a-Whirl and bumper cars set to blaring hip-hop — will not. Go pay tribute and say hello to Borough President Marty Markowitz of Brooklyn, who’ll christen the season with a chocolate egg cream.
Christening, 11:30 a.m., Astroland, 1000 Surf Avenue, Coney Island, Brooklyn, 718-372-0275; Cyclone tickets are $6; $4 for each repeat ride.

It is still sad that Coney Island is being destroyed, but I am glad the Cyclone is staying. Coney Island could be such a great place to go, it the city would of just cleaned it up. It has so much history! I love places like that.
