With my first, I used Kelly Murphy Photography. She was awesome! I know she stopped shooting for awhile after she had a baby but she may have resumed. I booked her in October for a March baby.
With my second, Kelly was on maternity leave so I booked Denise at Picture Perfect Fun and she was awesome too! She had an assistant helping her which was great. She was so sweet. I booked her I think in March or April for a September baby.
Highly recommend both. Both sets of pics are gorgeous and they are both very reasonably priced IMO.

We booked with Marie Christine. I fell in love with her photos after someone on this board suggested her. We have a mini Christmas session this weekend and will meet her then. We booked her in august for a (expected) January newborn shoot. I loved that her photos were very natural, not over-posed or over-accessorized.

So happy you booked her! We used her for an Xmas mini a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love the pics

I think it depends on the photographer. Most of them that I've looked at had a studio that you go to. Personally, I think I'd prefer that anyway.
I also read that like 2 weeks after giving birth is ideal.

Absolutely adorable! How far in advance did you book her?
i gave her my due date and she penciled me in for the week around when i was due. then when she was born, she picked a date and asked if it would work for me.

For DD1 we used Kreative Kidz. I loved the way her photos came out, but she was pretty pricey. For this DD, one of my co-workers who is an amateur photographer offered to do the pics for me, which is perfect because I don't want to spend too much money.

Newborn photographers book early. Some come to you, some have studios. I liked going to the studio bc 1-2 weeks after giving birth, my house was in no shape to have someone come with all of their backdrops and props. They usually recommend no more than 10 or 12 days after the baby is born because the younger they are, the easier they are to pose and the more likely they'll be and stay asleep. Sessions are usually around 3-4 hours.

I wanted Summer Lyn but it just wasn't something we could afford so we ended up using the hospital photographer with Mom365 and they came out so cute! The girls were only a day old so it was really nice to have these pictures.

I used Leslie Simmons. I liked her because she didn't over process her photos- a tchnique a lot of photographers use to make babies look more like dolls than humans.
She was amazing.
