Photos you'd like to re-create
Today nrshgrl came to my house and took some photos of Emily and I. I haven't seen them yet -- she'll e-mail them tonight, and I promise that if there are any good ones I'll share them with you.
It got me thinking though -- of that huge thread on LIWeddings of "photos you'd like to recreate." I'm sure many of you remember the post.
SO lets all find baby and kid photos that we'd love to re-create one day -- and post them on this thread. Feel free to share ones you've found online or anywhere else!

Those are great. I love the mom with the newborn on her knees. I think my thunder thighs would swallow my poor baby up.

I'm not going to post it since it would be a copyright violation & I wouldn't want anyone to think it's mine but "The Little Frog" is one of my favorite. You can click on the link. Photographer is in Patchogue. Unfortunately for me, it's too late to recreate it and I've tried on other people's babies.

I usually search around for children photographers to see what I like. If you go to Kodak's website, you can look at their Gallery Award Winners. I like this one - it was a Kodak Gallery award winner. Photographer is Jamie Hayes but I have no idea where he is from:

Eeek! I didn't even think of a copyright violation! Just so everyone knows, I got the first two photos from http://www.piperstudios.com and the rest of the photos from http://www.paulwendl.com. Actually they both have a lot of nice photos there. I found them through a google search.

You should start a business doing this!!!
You could specialize in taking photos of mommies and thier babies!!! I am so happy with how that one came out!!

Just one question, did you lay on the ground to take the photo?
I've been taking your advice and trying to get at the same level as Miranda but I have yet to master the art of good pictures.

We put the blanket on the grass, put Emily on her tummy, then I layed in back of her and we tried to go "cheek to cheek."
ETA: Duh, you probably wanted to know how nrthshgrl was laying -- she was squatting down in front of us if I remember correctly.

Yes in front of you - but also with a zoom lens which gives it more depth (if that makes any sense to you).
I can't imagine charging for this - seriously. I love to practice - and what I like most is that you finally have a picture that you like. I think everyone needs a picture of themselves that they like. I'm just looking for people that are local now
By the way, I know what you're thinking - why is she on LIF when she's supposed to be sending my photos - they're uploading now.

Oh - here's a good baby shot...I can't post the picture since it's not my baby & I haven't talked to the mom about this site...
Get white tulle, plop the baby down in the middle of it on her/his belly (when they can push up). Get eye level and snap away. It's one of those no fail shots.
Another good one for newborns is a white blanket/towel in the car seat with the baby in it.

Sure - if you want pregnancy shots and are around here, I can swing by. I haven't taken many of those. On the other hand, I am a pro-soccer picture taker

i have a ton but I'll let melbernai pick out the ones she likes so I don't post one she doesn't. If you look back, there are some I took of Ava Rose for Denisemang too. Same pose I mentioned earlier, white towel in the car seat.
