How do I stop my text from appearing behind my custom shape? I need it to be on it not behind it. LOL Can anyone tell me how to fix it.

To all the photoshop pros...
How did you learn to use it? I just got it recently and can't understand the layers for the life of me....is there some sort of tutorial?

Re: Photoshop pros
Click and drag the layer to the top. It has to be on TOP of your image. It's on the right side.

Not a pro here, but I taught myself for the most part.
I also subscribed to podcasts (iTunes) for photoshop tips & then looked up some stuff on digital scrapbooking.
Picture layers like those collages you used to make with words back in junio rhighschool (or maybe it was just in my junior high).
You start out with a piece of construction paper - called Background)
You add in some words (hot! cute! Love!) from a magazine that you cut out & paste them on the construction paper - called a text layer
Then you drag in photos of Rob Lowe from the Outsiders - or Matt Dillon in my sister's case. - that creates another layer
Then if you want words & photos to appear differently, you drag them around. I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I figured it out.
