Photoshop question... copying layers...

Hey PS gals! So I'd like to copy a layer from one document and paste it to another, sort of like a template I guess. How can I do that quick?

Duplicating is not the way. I've copyed layer styles and pasted from document to document with multiple pages open in PS but cannot see how to copy a layer and paste it.

Thanks! Chat Icon

Re: Photoshop question... copying layers...

I asked DH and he said if he understands the question correctly, to just drag the layer to the other document.

Re: Photoshop question... copying layers...

Yay! Daddy Camacho, you're my hero!

Now ask him if he knows if there's a way to paste it so it's exactly in the same location as on the other doc.

I'm trying to do a folded card and I made each front, back, inside right, inside left as their own docs so I can get the sizes right and the fold in the middle (gonna have them printed as postcards and fold them myself). Now that I'm trying to blend them for the print site, I see that I want the "band of stripes" on the front, to be the same on the back so that when opened, it's a continuous band across.

I supposed I should have done them outside and inside together and add that layer as a whole to the combo. I think that's what I'll do remove that layer and add it when I do the front/back combine.

Thanks!!! If he's got any other suggestion, I'd be glad to hear/learn! Chat Icon

You won't wait. I'll bet anything you'll be thinking about cards in the summer. You've caught the bug, I can tell!Chat Icon Chat Icon
