Pictures of our "NEW" house -- residing and windows! ETA new mailbox!
We bought our house last year and knew it needed new windows and siding. After many consulations, we finally did windows in the beginning of the summer with Home Depot and last week did our vinyl siding with a company here in NJ.
We are really happy with the new windows – we replaced all of our sliders with traditional double-hungs. And, now that the siding is complete, we are really happy with the look of our home. The front never looked too bad, but the back was so embarrassing!
We really wanted to keep the blue, as most of our neighbors have either white or beige houses and we like to be “different” – our neighbors are so happy we kept it blue actually! We will do landscaping and design with lighthouses, etc. in the Spring to keep with our coastal/beachy look. DH also painted our front door red and we added a new storm door (Pella – a screen rolls down from the top). We really love it and so does our dog!
It’s an amazing difference in noise (can’t hear a thing outside!) and we know we will be saving a lot come this winter!
Before...(it looks nice, but the shingles were hanging on with just a prayer! LOL)

ETA: Came home today and DH installed the new mailbox...  He said I had to post it! Our neighborhood has a tradition of "funky" mailbox, so we joined with them.

It looks beautiful!!!! I love the red door - we also have blue siding and are going to paint our door red - we're doing the sidelights too though!! If you were scared to, I'll post pics when we're done - it doesn't look bad.
Your whole house is beautiful (your dog too)!!!!

Nice house (and dog...  ). It came out great. It's amazing what new windows and siding can do for the look of a house. You can easily see why the experts say that residing a house has some of the best resale value. It changes the look of the entire house.

You know how much I LOVE your house! It is such a transformation from when you originally bought it! LOVE that you picked to accent the front door in red!!!! Plus you have a great mascot on the front stoop  Go Sarge!

Thanks, they are great like that for ONE week...and then BAM, gone. But lucky for me it was timed right with the siding.

and I also want to suggest (Im not sure if you are on long island or not) but when you do that lighthouse in the landscape thing.. considering cementing it into the ground or something. Ive heard in the past of such accents being stolen from peoples front and back yard... wierd.. i know.

I've heard that too! Im in NJ and most of our neighbors have "lawn art" -- we are in enclosed neighborhood.
But regardless we'll probably be securingit in some way anyway.
