Pigs in a Blanket -- can I make it 2 days ahead?

DS's christening party is on Saturday and I'm trying to get as much done ahead of time as possible...

Can I make the pigs in a blanket today? I'm using cocktail weiners and Crescent rolls -- I'd like to assemble them today, bake them, and keep them in the fridge until Sat PM....then I'll warm them up under the broiler.

Too ambitious? Can I at least assemble them today?

I don't think they would re-heat very well.

You could probably assemble them today, but I would think that you would need to keep them on the baking sheet so they don't fall apart. That might create a space issue in the fridge.

If at all possible I would wait until tomorrow night to assemble them...not too sure if the dough might "crust up" a little in the fridge for that long.

I wouldnt bake them a head of time .

I definitely wouldn’t bake them ahead of time. I don’t think the dough will puff the same way the second time.

Crescent rolls are a yeast dough & must be baked after opening. Once you pop that tube the yeast starts to die & the dough is useless after 24 hours. This is just one of those recipes you can not do in advance.

Reheated it is not flaky, pull-apart, melt in your mouth. It's not the same.

I've had leftovers after a party, and they were ok for me to eat but i wouldn't serve them that way.

No problem - I'll be making them tomorrow AM instead!
