The west coast is like that. They are surfer types & alot more laid back then we are. I have family in Oregon & I wouldn't be shocked if my nephew did that. he loves pink. (And no he is not gay in the least) I personally don't think it's a big deal.
I was about to say the same thing. Pink in NY is considered "feminine" here...but Pink in CA..."gnarly"
