Re: PIO questions

At our injection class the nurse said we can do it with my lying down. I think though that my husband might have a hard time going in at the right angle if I'm lying down. A friend of mine told me it was easiest for her standing up, and shifting her weight to her other leg

Re: PIO questions

I have never done it lying down, although I was told you can...When I get mine, I lean over my bathroom sink slightly and bend the leg on the side the injection is being given (I think relaxing that leg is what had made it so pain-free for me, or my DH should have been a Dr. because I rarely feel anything-LOL)...I know that this may sound hard to believe, after looking at the needle, but much of the time I would not have even know he stuck me if he didnt tell me...As for pre-making the syringe, I'm not positive but I thought I remembered reading that it must be given immediately (check your pamphlet if you have it) I also have the PIO (sesame)...Good Luck !

Re: PIO questions

I never gave the PIO immediately. I would heat it in a heating pad first, not too hot, but warm it so it went in smoothly. I also bent over a counter and bent the leg of the side the shot was going in. It didn't hurt me at all. I have heard of people lying down so I don't see why you can't. I would just call the Dr's office to check.

Re: PIO questions

I did it leaning over the bathroom sink as well, and I heated a wet washcloth and placed it over the injection site for a few minutes, it didt hurt and made the oil go in nice and easy.

Re: PIO questions

I put one leg on the toilet and I slightly bent over. I put the PIO in a handwash cloth and blowdried it for about 2 minutes to warm it up. The shot did not hurt one bit!
