places on LI to buy a pre-cooked turkery ?
DH and I are headed to his grandparents house on thanksgiving to see his family. unforunately, for health reasons, they are not able to cook and have asked us to bring the turkey. we're coming from out of state -- and it's not really logistically feasible for us to cook it ahead of time (nor will we be there early enough to cook a turkey of the size needed for the group at their house).
Are there any good places to buy pre-cooked turkeys? we will be coming from my family's house in the stony brook area and his grandparents are in the lindenhurst area.... so suggestions close to either (or on the way) would be really, really helpful!!!

Stop & Shop has been advertising their turkey dinners - you can get turkey and all the fixings pre-made.
Just order in advance: click me

When I lived in my co-op I used to order pre cooked turkey and all the trimmings from Restaurant Row in Bay Shore. They are now called Kitchen Kabaret but they seem to still offer the same catering.

my sister got one this past weekend from stop and shop she had a "friends" thanksgiving dinner, it was excellent and comes in 3 diff. weights. Only have to cook it for 2 hours, can't beat that! PLUS stop and shop in yesterdays newsday has a 5 dollar off coupon.
She ordered sides from them too and they were delicious. (creamed spinach was my favorite)

Re: places on LI to buy a pre-cooked turkery ?
We decided to stay home at the last minute and were faced with the same issue. A friend suggested ordering food from Whole Foods and we placed the order yesterday. I'm not sure where you live but they have Whole Foods markets in Jericho and Manhasset. You can either order a pre-cooked turkey or a prepared/dressed turkey that just needs to be heated in the oven.
ETA: Just re-read your inital post and realized your grandparents lived in the Lindenhurst area. The Jericho Whole Foods would be closest to them - about 20-25 minutes away. It may be out of the way, however, if you are coming from Stonybrook.

Zorns.
My mother ordered from them before. I believe she ordered it from their East Meadow location (Hempstead Tpke). Not sure where their other stores are. Food was delicious though!
