Re: Places on LI to Social Distance
There is a paved loop in Calverton called EPCAL. Best place to park and start is Isaac Dog Park/Veterans Memorial park.

We have been going to Heritage Park in Mt. Sinai. They have a track to walk, and picnic tables to bring lunch .

Good to hear that they picnic tables are available.
I was at Hecksher about a month ago and all the picnic tables were roped off .

Re: Places on LI to Social Distance
Thank you everyone. I have gotten great food suggestions but to eat an expensive meal at a park or on a blanket on the beach seems so not worth it. So sad. We will find something to do but will have to accept that it won't be as fancy. Not a "big" one but still up there :)

Maybe if you can find an open cheese shop (American Cheese in Sayville was doing take out but ended up closing temporarily a week or so ago) and get like a cheese board to go. American Cheese used to do a picnic box with 3 cheeses, some nuts, fig jam, bread, etc. Or you can even pack your own. Something like that with some wine rather than a big fancy meal.

I went to college with someone who made a party out of a picnic. She brought a fancy lace tablecloth, wine glasses, real silverware etc. The experience will be what you make of it.
