planned C-section moms???
Are you considering asking that your visitors wait until the day after you give birth? I know that our parents will be right there even before the baby comes out. However, I was wondering if the pain or fatigue on the first day are worse and if maybe I should ask other people to wait. Then I was thinking that it does not matter because I may feel worse on some other day. I get very overwhelmed with some family situations, and I guess you all can tell that I get very overwhelmed when people have a ton of questions! I don't want that when I am just out of surgery.

I was fine for visitors but everyone has a different reaction to the meds. I found most people use common sense and dont visit that same day-except close family.

Re: planned C-section moms???
I did not. I was fine to see visitors right after the c-section.

As much as I would love to, there is no way I can keep my mom & ILs away. Plus they can see the baby & not have to come visit me....

I had visitors immediately. I was fine. A little drugged up, but definitely fine. But it's a personal preference. I would tell everyone to be "on-call". This way you can decide after. There's just no way to know until it happens.

Our parents will be right there even before the baby is delivered. I could not even try to prevent that. It's the siblings, aunts, uncles, friends and the entire zoo that I am worried about.

Re: planned C-section moms???
No, I'm pretty much leaving it up to DH to let people know when they can come visit. His parents, sister and one of my best friends will be there that day. No one else in my family knows the exact date/hospital (for very good reasons) so I'll leave it up to him to share the news.

Are you saying that the day after the procedure was worse than day of? It makes sense. Perhaps the day of the birth is not as troublesome of a time for visitors as I originally thought. My friend had a C-section yesterday and she was just tired, but not in pain.

Re: planned C-section moms???
On my first birth, only immediate family came on the first day and didn't stay long. I would like it that way this time too. I only felt comfortable with all the pain I was in and how I looked to have my family there on the first day.
