Planning
Anyone start planning yet for this school year? I'm trying to motivate myself to start right now, but I'm struggling!

I started yesterday. I wrote a unit plan for Lord of the Flies because I haven't taught it....ever.
I've been teaching for 10 years so I've got the beginning of the year down pat but this year I am teaching some books that I've never done before (new school) so I feel like I am going to be doing a lot more planning this year than the last 5 years.

I started thinking about topics I want to cover. I am also teaching a class I have never technically taught before. I have a lot of freedom with this class, so I am going to go with the flow of the students quite a bit.

how did you do an entire unit plan in one day??!?
i've started planning the beg of the year..i have to do a lot today bc i have a meeting tomorrow to go over beg of year, but i basically have sept done..im teaching one new grade, and need one more unit for the other grade i'm teaching though

I'm teaching summer school so I'll be working on plans and going through my lessons once that lets out (next week).
