planning a vacation for April...
DH and I want to take the kids on a week long vacation in April. DS will be 23 months, DD 11 months. We were thinking Disney, but then thought maybe they were to young. It will be to cold for Sesame Place/Dutch Wonderland. We were thinking maybe Vermont, Maine, or New Hampshire? Boston was also a possibility but can you really do 7 nights in Boston? Outer Banks, NC and Vero Beach, Fl. are also on the list. What are your suggestions for a fun family vacation? TIA!

Re: planning a vacation for April...
We took DD#1 to WDW when she was 15 months and she LOVED it!! We are going back in May when she will be almost 3 and DD#1 will be turning 1 on the trip. There was a ton of things for her to do and we all had a great time. Children under 3 are free - so you don't have to pay for them for tickets. If they eat off your plate or you go to a buffet or family style restaurant they are free (if you order them a meal at a sit down with a menu place you will pay for them though). They are very baby friendly too with baby care centers which are really nice for changes etc. A week is a nice amount of time so you don't have to spend all day in the parks - it gives you time to go in the mornings, return to your hotel for a nap and swim time and go back in the evenings.
Another place to think of would be a resort type vacation.

If you go to a warmer place you can spend time at the beach. They will love that. Boston is good for a long weekend or maybe 4 nights. I vote Florida. We took Jenny in sept at 18 months and she did enjoy a bunch. She loved animal kingdom lodge and all the animals. We are going again soon to visit family and are def going to the beach. She is 21 months and LOVES the beach and pools

Re: planning a vacation for April...
Thanks ladies! Yea, we figured we would save Boston for a 3 or 4 night thing. We are thinking about doing 4 nights in Disney, and than driving to Disney's Vero Beach Resort and doing 3 nights there. We would love to also do a disney cruise eventually, but not until our youngest is at least two. Would you reccomend any of the hotels in the Downtown Disney area? I like how they are cheaper because although on Disney property, they are not Disney owned, KWIM?

Re: planning a vacation for April...
I think they are mixed prices and you can get good deals but they don't give you wdw perks. If you want perks (extra magic hours, transportation, etc and being closer to the parks for breaks during the day) check out the values and moderates. If you are renting a car and don't care about those perks you can get a good deal elsewhere. Parking at the parks is $12 a day IF you stay off property - if you stay on property parking is free.
I have never been to vero beach but it sounds nice.
