plastic surgeon recommendation for mole removal?

can anyone recommend a plastic surgeon for mole removal on my neck/face? i will travel through LI to NYC; I want flawless results. I'm afraid to go to a derm since it's my face.

has anyone had mole removal like this by a PS? what was the cost, healing time, and procedure like.

I had two moles removed from my upper lip by a plastic surgeon. It was covered by insurance. The procedure was done in his office in about a half hour with just an injection for numbing. Healing time was a few weeks. The first two were the worst because of the bandage. After that was off I wasn't self conscious anymore -- the pink line in the beginning was far less to see than the moles were. Now I'd have to look very very close to notice where they were (skin slightly lighter.) I imagine the results would have been ever better if it wasn't my lip - the stiller the area can stay the less the scar. Mine was done by Joseph Feinberg in Manhasset right across from the big Macy's. He is as good as they get.

In High School I was referred by my derm (Dr. Donna Serure) to a PS that *she* used to remove birthmarks and moles on her face. I had a freckle birthmarky-thing on the side of my face that was a little above the skin. As I got older it became more raised and I wanted it off. She told me to go to him and thank God she gave me that recommendation because he was excellent. Since it is on my face and the side of my face I was worried - he immediately realized the concern that when you look at me, dead on, it was near my temple and so he had to be careful about a scar because it would be easy to notice. He was excellent - at the time, ten years ago mind you, it was around $380 for him to remove it. He numbed the area, did the procedure, stitched me up. But the results with the scar - or lack of scar lol - are amazing. He was great. And you would never even know. I wore a butterfly bandaid for two/three days and he took the stitches out - I used maderma and that was it.

I had a dime sized birthmark removed from my cheek 2 years ago. I have almost no scar today (used scar guard for 6 months and had 1 laser treatment at the one year mark.)
I used Dr. Marotta in Smithtown.

i recommend using a dermatological plastic surgeon. i used one in garden city.

I'm in search for a plastic surgeon for mole removal too. Really hard to figure out who to go to. Did you all go to several consults before deciding?
