Playing funny tricks on co-workers
Do you play pranks on your co-workers?
We do here al lthe time.
We have this fake mouse that has weels- and if you pull him back he zooms forward. We pull him back and then put lots of papers over him so when the prson lifts the papers, the mouse moves towrds them...this mouse trick has been going on since halloween.
we also like to pull the chord from the phone receiver so the person answers the phone but there is no chord.
silly stuff like that
any other ideas

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
I like the mouse trick.
Someone hid my co-workers shoes the other day. She changed into boots to go out for lunch and when she came back her shoes were gone. It wasn't as good as what they do in your office but it amused us for a while.

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
one thing we used to do when i was at yellow book (we had SO much fun there)....
we'd slowly swap people's desks around... if your picture frame was on the right, we'd move it to the left...and every time you left your desk, we'd move one more item....
oh my GOD did we enjoy that one!

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
we had upside down days.
We'd take everything in one person's cubicle and turn it upside down.
Stapler, mouse, phone, keyboard, chair, papers, etc.
We'd also interoffice condiment packets to people.
In my DHs department there was a book of STDs (as in venereal diseases) and the guys would leave it open to a praticular nasty disease on people's desks.
If people didn't lock their computers when they left we'd go to MS Word auto-correct and replace words like "fiscal" with "coochie". So they'd type 'In this fiscal year' and it would be replaced with 'In this coochie year'.
There are tons more that we did.

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
While our boss was away on vaca for a week, we all covered his office from top to bottom in post-its..
It was funny until he made us take them all down..
He used to prank us ALLL the time.. He'd put anti-bacterial gel on the ear part of the phone so when you answered it you'd get goo all over your ear... Image Attachment(s):

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
These are so funny. DH's company always does the phone cord thing LOL
DH and I used to work together in a bank when we were in college. He used to put tape over the lock in my draw so I couldn't get my key in. He also put tape over the feed button on my calculator and turn it off. This way when I put it on the paper flies out all over the place.
Ah, those were the days

changed people's font to white, so they coudln't see what they were typing or thought they lost a bunch of work
also you can make screens on the monitor appear upside down (not if its vista) from the appearance/view thing on the main screen
good times

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
Here's some things I did at my old company:
- take peoples pics of their desks and put them on others.
-steal all the staplers and put them in one persons drawer.
-set the chairs at different heights
-unplug the phone so when they picked it up they couldn't hear
One April fools we took all the plants on one floor and piled them into our bosses office. It looked like a jungle.

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
There is an LIF'er (who shall remain nameless) that likes to tape down the button under the ear part of my phone so when I pick up the phone to answer it, it isn't really answered - it's still ringing... so then I have to peel the tape quick enough to not miss the client that's calling
She also likes to put tape over the optical sensor under the mouse... so when I go to use it the mouse doesnt move.
glued all my pen caps on...
We've also taken a screen-shot of the desktop, then moved all the desktop folders into 1 folder in a corner... then save that screen-shot pic as their new wallpaper and when they go to click on stuff.. it doesn't open because its part of the pic
have to try to think of more..

Not in the office, but rubber band the sprayer on the sink so it shoots the person that turns on the sink next. Not funny at work, but hilarious when your mom turns the sink on.

These are hilarious, but DS was trying to figure out how to set this up. I will have to fill him in.

My boss...a 65 year old attorney...bought fart spray and a fart machine and had the whole office disgusted for an entire morning thinking it was other co-workers. I think I will use some of these ideas to get him back

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
We don't do nice funny things-we do mean things. For example, I was out and my colleagues turned the table and chairs in my office upside down and smeared BBQ sauce on my desk. Lovely. I would complain but I had done stuff to prompt this so all is fair...

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
At my old place we used to get people while they were on vacation. We would either rearrange their desk area by putting things in the wrong place or upside down. We would tape things shut. Hide things. Once we rubber banded a girls cube and she had to figure how to get in.
It was all in good fun and it was fun to see thier reactions.

Re: Playing funny tricks on co-workers
someone kidnapped my stuffed animal and I found a picture on my desktop of my stuffed animal with a knife to it's throat holding a note that said help me Jessica. Then I got a message to leave $1,000,000 in unmarked bills in a duffel bag in the ladies bathroom.
