Playtex Drop-ins
so I started using drop-ins last few days and I think they are causing gas to ds... I assumed that he was cranky after his shots on Friday until I noticed that he is all red in the face and trying to either poop or pass gas... dont they say that they should reduce gas? anyone else have similar experience? I guess I am going back to Dr Browns for now...

Re: Playtex Drop-ins
Doesn't everything say that they reduce gas
DS never has worse gas with the drop ins though. My mom mentioned that when she used them with me and my sister (26 and 24 years ago) she used to pinch the bottom of the liner to get the air out.

Re: Playtex Drop-ins
Do you squeeze the air out? If not, it's the same as giving them a regular bottle. Try that and see if it improves.

My mom had said that she used to let the air out too....I try to remember to do that, but sometimes he gets so mad waiting...I am not sure if you have to do this though...

Really, you are supposed to let the air out. If you don't, it defeats the entire purpose of the bottle. Of course if it doesn't give your child gas the by not letting it out, that's fine, but if your child has gas from using these and you aren't letting the air out, that's the problem. I have the pre-formed liners as well as the soft ones and on both boxes it says to squeeze it out. If you don't, your baby is just sucking in all the air that was in the bottle, because really, where else would it go?

Re: Playtex Drop-ins
I also had bad problems with the drop ins. When you get the air out it helps. I also thought that the stiff liners were tricky so I tried the generic, plastic liners that are like plastic bags and I think they helped.
