Please comfort a working Mom...
I'm going back to work, and never thought I'd needed to post that I was feeling down, but I am. I look forward to work in some ways, but I'm just going to miss DD so much. She's in a great home care situation, right down the block. I could not ask for a better setup and feel confident she will be loved and have good interaction with a few other toddlers. I just don't want her to forget our special bond. Please tell me she won't forget! This is much tougher than I thought and I still have a few weeks at home left.

She won't forget, I'm sure she will be ALL smiles when you pick her up Maybe you could get a photo album (like the Sassy ones) and put pictures of you, DH and your other family members in it for her to keep at daycare

I could have written the same thing myself. I just went back to work this week and am worried about the same thing. Hang in there! We'll get through!!

She won't forget her mommy. Your bond will just grow stronger as she grows.
When DD first started daycare, she gave me big smiles when I picked her up. Then, came giggles and smiles and baby hugs. Now, she sees me and crawls as fast as she can towards me, laughing/shrieking, and smiling all the way.
No one can replace her parents.

I don't think she will forget you at all.

No Way will she forget you. She will appreciate you even more. The interaction will be good for her. You are raising a happy, independent (in a good way) little girl. I hope it's not too bad for you.

Re: Please comfort a working Mom...
I can feel your pain and heartache...I go back to work in a week, and I'm dreading it, even though I love my job. I'm so nervous DD won't be as loving with me when we're not spending 24/7 together
But as the other BTDT have said, they'll remember us and love us just the same (that's what I'm making myself believe too!)

Re: Please comfort a working Mom...
I just went back Christian and have the same situation as you. She loves her in home care but the smile I get when I pick her up, makes me miss her even more the next day.
I think it will get easier but when DH goes out of town and you are on your own, its really tough. Just hang in there and know you are not alone- we are all in the same boat
ETA: I got DD a teething photo album at BRU. Its really cute and holds 4 pics of DD with my DH and I. I have seen her Day care provider looking at it with her when I picked her up once, so I know they use it.

I struggled with this too, many of us do not have a choice and working is the only option. You will both be ok, and you will always be #1 to your DD!!!

That's a great idea with the album! Thank you!
And thank you for the hugs! I think it's harder on mommies, hopefully, and not the babies.
