I'm 28 and have no clue what movie you are talking about. It might just be that she never saw it? I don't think it has anything to do with your age.
I'm 28 too, I've never seen this movie, but I asked my hubby who's 33, and he enthusiasticly said "yes" he's seen it, and then said to me "you've never seen it?? oh my god" I was seriously movie deprived as a kid- no cable, no VCR in my house until 1991 (no I'm not kidding!)....I got cable when I was 21, I'm sooooo behind on movies! I just saw Harry Met Sally for the first time last week, no joke!

I don't think Lucas was quite as popular as other 80's movies - ie: Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles - that is probably why she didn't know the movie. I've seen it - but I don't remember that scene in the movie you write about.
I'm 31 by the way.

I looooooved that movie! I'm 34, so I don't know if it's age, or maybe the movie just wasn't as big as we thought and not as many people know it.

I'm 30 and I know of the movie, but never saw it. I agree with a PP that it wasn't as popular as Pretty in Pink, Goonies and other movies like that. But Corey Haim WAS really cute!
