EXACTLY how i feel.
SO is bald. i noticed that when he shaves his head, he misses a part on the neck that gave him a bit of the "summer sweater" look when wearing a t-shirt. took care of that about three days after i noticed it.

I'll admit when I met DH I was so grossed out by his 40 year old virgin hairy chest and back. Yes..it's that bad!
BUT....I liked him, I mean really liked him and forced myself to see past his hairiness.
Now I wouldn't trade him, his hairy back or his short legs in for the world
I buz him, yes buzz him outside on the back porch pertified that someone is going to see (no one ever does) and when I'm all done it looks like there's a dead furrry animal on the floor.
Yes he is hairy but I take care of him... so only I will know he is hairy!

I have to agree. My DH is a hairy mofo- thankfully him being hairy doesn't "gross me out" because he's complete perfection to me otherwise. My goodness I cannot tell you how hurt I'd be if he told me something about me needed to be "fixed" because I was grossing him out.
Also- he's a grown man.... not my child. He doesn't NEED me to take care of him. He's not one to go out in sleeveless tops or shirtless because he knows there are so many perfect people who might get *offended*.
After getting chemical burns Nairing his back for our honeymoon, he just leaves it now. Frankly, it's not something I ever gave much thought to.... I suppose because love is supposed to be blind.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course.

Whoa, don't call me shallow when you don't know me... I don't like my DH with a hairy back... just like he would NOT like me with hairy legs... So before you call me shallow, think if you would be able to see past it if your SO didn't shave her legs or armpits or didn't brush her teeth or wears tube socks with high heels or whatever your particular thing is... we all have our quirks of what we like and don't like appearance wise… and if he said “Tough, I have a hairy back, deal” I would say fine… but since we like to please each other and be as attractive as we can for each other we BOTH do things we know the other would like, even though we don’t particularly care for ourselves.
Snap judgements blow, don't they? It's unfair.
Perhaps you shouldn't presume those of us who *allow* our husbands to walk around with hairy bodies aren't "taking care" of them.
It's nice that you and DH have an agreement about what you deem acceptable physically with one another- we do too. But when you wonder how I cannot be grossed put by it, I am wondering why you care?
I find my husband more attractive with his "summer sweater" than covered with rashy bumps from waxing/Nair. He works outside and comes home covered in sweat and jet fuel.
BTW- I totally understand that people are at the sight of hairy dudes. I suppose I was too- until I fell in love with one. So this thread isn't really offensive to me, but it does make me laugh. Just wanted to give the side of the woman who doesn't take care of her husband.
I just wonder how this thread would have turned out if it had been about overweight women in bathing suits?

Very good point.
We all know how THAT thread would be if one of the men of LIF posted about how grossed out they were seeing really heavy women in swim suits.....it would've been a blood bath.

I don't see what the big deal is.....
If I was grossed out by it then I wouldn't have married my best friend. And wouldn't know how great he is b/c I was acting superficial.
My DH does shave his back with my help, but it's not something he can help. It is what he is.

Just wanted to add, My hubby is one of these hairy guys. I don't mind it at all, I just giggle to see fuzzy men in tank tops... It doesnt gross me out or repulse me, I just giggle... I dont even know why!! Can I also add ....
Women with hairy husbands....do you have to vaccume your bathroom everyday like me
