Please Help Girl! Make Up Question

Ok, so I never wear make up. HOwever, now that I am a mom and look dead tired all of the time I feel the need to wear it in the morning just to freshen up a bit.

Problem is I dont know how to apply make-up. I dont like foundation so this morning I bought Press Powder and eyeshadow.

So my question is with eyeshadow what color goes on the bottom the light or dark first? Can you put press powder over foundation? I think it looks nice alone.

With eyeshadow, I do light all over my lid and dark as close to my lashline as I can get an in the crease & blend it.

As far as pressed powder, I used to wear it over foundation for a finished look. My skin is too dry to wear it alone, but if your skin isn't, I don't see why you couldn't wear just the powder.

If you're not used to wearing makeup I would suggest getting some mascara and blush (blush can really help to brighten you up) and some light lipgloss. I would start there. Eyeshadow and liner, etc....is more complicated. You can definitely wear pressed powder alone...I do...I don't wear foundation. Put blush over the powder on the apples of your cheeks though b/c powder alone will wash you out even more.

I do the same. And to brighten up my eyes when they look tired, I apply a very light, shimmery color shadow in the corners of my eyes... it opens them up a bit.

Re: Please Help Girl! Make Up Question

Here are my make-up suggestions:

You can definitely wear the pressed powder alone. You may also want to try a tinted moisturizer - it can even brighten up your skin, but it's much lighter and sheerer than foundation.

I am a big fan of eye liner. I usually use a brown or plum eyeliner on my lower lash line and I feel like it always brightens up my eyes.

As for eyeshadow, I will sometimes just use one shade on my eyes. Sometimes just adding a little color will go along way.

And as Johnsae said, I agree that blush and mascara work really well!
