Please Help me find my DOG **UPDATE** 2nd UPDATE**UPDATE 3**UPDATE 4**UDATE 5**FINAL UPDATE**

This is my first post and I am asking for help!!

Our dog went missing today and we are all so sad!!!!

Here is her info if you could PLEASE put the word out and say a prayer that she comes home!!!

White Maltese
1 yr old female
Her name is Jewelz
very friendly

her collar was off to get a bath but she does have a chip.

I am going to try and post a pic of her.

***UPDATE*** So we haven't found her YET but we just received the first promising news as to where our jewelz is

yesterday evening a woman in the neighborhood saw her at the corner of her road (about a block from our home) and stopped to get her and a young guy in his 20's also stopped and picked her up and the woman said she would take her but the guy insisted that he would turn her in and said beisdes my girlfriend always wanted a dog!!!! The woman wanted to grab the dog from him but was worried so instead she took the license plate number make and model of the car. so I am waiting now for the police to give a report.

I now have some hope!!!! All of the prayers are working!!

****2nd UPDATE*****

OK... so I spoke to the police and filled out a report and gave them the info on the license plate and they ran it and it did come back as the EXACT make and Model of the description that the woman gave. Unfortunately this guy lives in HEmpstead so they turned everything over to the Detective. I did find out that this is Grand Larceny because my husband bought Jewelz for me and paid $1500 so the police are handling it at this point. I could just cry... I hope they have already went there but changes are they haven't.

I really want to post the car on here in hopes that if someone sees it or my baby they call it in ....

**UPDATE 3**
First Thank you all for you suggestions and prayers, It helps that there is this forum to reach out to everyone!!! I spoke to the detective tonite apparently this is a FELONY They are working with the 1st and 2nd Prescient in my area and have an APB out on this guy. The detective told me the woman (who took the info down) came down there tonite and gave a statement (I am going to go to her house tomorrow and leave a Thank you basket on her stoop it seems so insignificant but she really went above and beyond). I am grateful that they have moved so quickly with this.



***UPDATE 4***
Sorry I haven't been on today me and practically everyone I know has been driving around looking for the a** But to update you I have spoken to the detective this evening and they went to his address from the license and he does not live there they did however get information as to where to find him (I m leaving that out so I do not compromise the element of surprise) so sooner rather than later they are going to confront him. If he does turn the dog in at this point to a shelter they have all been notified in the area that there is a stolen Maltese that is chipped. My MAJOR fear at this point is that he gets scared and puts my Jewelz out in the cold. I swear I am in tears right now just thinking of that. My lab (Liberty) is so depressed she keeps going out and circling the house looking for Jewelz
What else can I do????? I may put up HUGE signs from near where she was taken with BIG REWARD written maybe this will flush him out.

**UPDATE 5**
Well... I wanted to update you all because of all the support you have given to me these last few days.. We are still very very hopeful but because of the snow and ice today the guy did not show up at where they went to get him. They did find out where he lives and went there but the dog was not there(Yea cause he gave it to his girlfriend) the detective has assured me that at any time now they will get him. I hate and understand all at the same time why they are being so cryptic.
The Detective also said to me that he had told his wife and kids about this and that his kids made him promise that he find our Jewelz for us!!!! So that actually cheered me up a bit he says he can't go home with out his kids asking about it.
Bottom Line I have faith that I will get her back I just feel it in my bones

We now know how to find him and it is only a matter of time. Keep the prayers coming for good news really soon.

Call all the animal shelters in your area, along with NSAL, and ask them for any oher places you can call and post photos of her.

Also, any vets in the area - let them know so they can watch out for any wandering dogs, and for the families that come in.

Thank you for your suggestions. So far I have called my dogs vet also the other pet hotels in my area. I called the shelter but they close at 3:30 so I will try again tomorrow. I think I put 50 miles on my car today driving around looking for her. My husband (who just had knee surgery 2 months ago) took our sons bicycle to go around the neighborhood looking for her.

Thank you for the suggestions. I am putting up posters in the am and going around to ALL the vets..

I am that some kind person saw her and took her home to research where to bring her.

My 2 boys are so sad right now. and our lab looks depressed to not have her friend.

OMG, I am so sorry. Call the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter. It is possible someone found her and brought her there.......their number is: 631-643-9270. This is where we found our new addition Nickie............

Thank you for all your suggestions I still haven't found my baby. I am going to all the shelters and vets this morning.
I also registered her on petfinders and will put her on the other lists suggested.

I pray that she is returned

Just a couple of things that might help you find him.

-Go on PetFinder.com
-Call the local precinct (they pick up dogs a lot)
-Call the Town Shelter
-Call the local Vets

This is what I did to help an owner find a dog and they got him back.

If someone pick her up, this is what they probably did.

Wow keep us posted. I sure hope that man can be tracked down and that he admits he has the dog, and hands her over. My prayers are with you.

Let all vets in the area know, esp if she is chipped.

Glad to hear that they are moving quickly on this, I hope they went there already! What a POS this guy is, I hope they arrest him and throw his *** in jail.
