Please help me pick an area rug -- POLL

For my living room, I have narrowed my choices down to these two......Here is a pic of what color the walls will be.....Which rug do you think goes better? Also, my couches are a beige color, and I will be getting coffee tables and end tables in a dark expresso color......If you don't think either rug will match, any suggestions would be GREAT. Thanks so much!

#1 is too modern for my taste. I like #2 over #1.

Unless you're going for a monochromatic look, I would add some color to the room and would do so through the rug. Maybe some blues.

Honestly, I don't like the 1st one at all. It is very distructing to the eye and not too esthetically pleasing. JMI, of course.

I think 2nd one will go nicely with what you described.

I'm personally not a fan of either, but i agree with Colleen. I think it will be overkill of browns, especially with the coffee table/end table being a dark brown. If you'd like it to pull the room together, you could always find a rug with more color and a small hint of brown in it. But these choices IMHO are too much brown.

I like more traditional rugs better. But this looks like the style you are going for with similar colors:

Thank you for all of your opinions.....Since Rug #2 has some light green in it (in the leaf design, does that look like green?), I can put some green accents in the room....How would that be?

That doesn't look too much like a green color to me. More like a beige color. Chat Icon

Maybe it's our monitors, because it looks green to me -- either that or I'm going color-blind! Chat Icon I think I'm leaning towards the second one.....

It looks beige to me too Chat Icon

Ultimately it's your choice...for me, it's too earthy (green/brown) and I would want to bring in some other elements.

I'm sorry, but it looks beige to me as well. I don't see any green in #2.

Re: Please help me pick an area rug -- POLL

If your couches are beige and your walls are the color that you posted,

what about doing a burnt reddish orange color?

It would give the room some more depth while still being modern.

Sort of like this but maybe with more of a pattern?

I personally don't think you can go wrong with red and beige AT ALL!

I am strongly considering it and my walls are a yellowish beige and my couch is a brown paisley.

I am concerned about the red-brown combination for myself - I think it might be too much color. I may do the same rug for myself in the beige...

If my COUCH was beige, I would do the red in a heartbeat!!!!

Here it is in the beige:
