Please help! PT daycare/nanny?
Hi Parents!, Im a poster on the preggo boards...I am expecting in November. My question for you lovely ladies... I need pt daycare for March to June...then Sept on. Im a teacher. My mom will watch the baby for 3-4 days a week..leaving me a couple to figure out. I called kindercare and tutor time, and its expensive for the pt. I may as well get inside help that can come to my home. Can anyone give suggestions on where to find a nanny or pt babysitter? Im so lost! Thanks for your help! Edited to say Im from smithtown!

You have FM. I think since your only looking for 1 or 2 days during the week you won't have a problem finding someone.

well if you don't mind having another mom watch DC you might be in luck finding a local mom who is only looking for 1 or 2 days a week.

I babysit for a family member who is also a teacher. It's perfect for SAHMs. Maybe advertise on Craigslist? Just keep asking on here. Maybe there is a SAHM interested.

Im also looking for part time, someone tocome to the house or to drop him off at and have had a hard time finding someone for only 8-16 hours a week.
Good luck.
If I find a place I will pass it on!

Re: Please help! PT daycare/nanny?
you should call the local college career centers. There may be a student studying to be a teacher looking to make extra money... think about Dowling or Suffolk Community College.
Also, spread the word with friends... word of mouth recommendations are best.
That said, a friend of mine had the same situation and ran an ad in a local paper. It worked for her but these days you need to be so careful in screening people.
Good luck.
