Please help.. when do you take DC to doctor b/c of a fever??
Kaila started with a high fever yesterday AM.. all she wanted to do was sleep and her temp kept going over 103. I gave her tylenol and it went down for about 2 hours.. then she fell asleep again (mind you DD never naps anymore) and woke up burning hot and threw up.
DH made me take her to the ER because the ped was closed already but we never got seen in 3 1/2 hours so we left at 10pm  I gave her more tylenol before she went to bed cause I noticed the temp started going back up and she slept with us.. she was ok for the night. Now she has the chills again.. should I take her? Do you think I should just keep giving her tylenol to get it down and then hopefully it stops??
My only concern is that we were on a plane on Sunday.. from GA. I hate dragging this poor baby to the ped all the time and getting told its nothing.. ugh I feel so bad. Sorry for rambling.. thanks if you got that far

I know.. its a stupid question right? But my mom and my best frien both brought up the Swine flu and that freaks me out.. I hate it when she's sick. Ugh!!!

I would def call the pred now and see what they say. They probablly will you to bring her in. Did you try motrin for the fever? Either way you should take her.
Good luck I hope she feels better soon.

It's not a stupid question at all!! In light of the stuff going around though, I would def. take her. I hope she feels better soon!!

I look at it this way with 103 - it never hurts to have them looked at by a doctor - b.c what is the worst case - they will say it is something simple and nothing - but if it is something that you can treat why not be seen just in case.

Like everyone else said, take her to the doctor. I would also give her Mortin to help break the fever instead of Tylenol.

I always take DS to dr. for fever. Fever could be ear infection.

I would bring DC to the doc ! mY dd had a fever yesterday and a cool shower and tylenol helped but if she still had it today I would have brought her

Thanks ladies.. I made an appt for 11:30. Her fever isnt as bad as yesterday but I dont like that she has it 2 days in a row. Its just nice to hear others say "no you're not crazy take her to the ped"

I would take her to the ped but def try switching to Motrin. My ped always said that you should start with Motrin and if that doesn't bring it down try Tylenol.
