Please help with sleeping problem - I am so tired! Sorry a bit long :(
So DS has never been a great sleeper but, we had him on a schedule where I would nurse him and put him down after his last feeding between 1:30 and 2:30 and he would sleep through until 7am. Then I would feed him around 7am, eat breakfast and go back to sleep with him and he would go another 2-3 hours of sleeping. Not great but, workable. Then we moved (not sure if this has anything to do with it). The first two nights were great...I put himdown around 1 and he slept through until almost 9! I was so excited. Then we we tried to move the schedule earlier b/c of the change in our schedules (again, not sure if this has anything to do with it) and it started a downward spiral. First two nights I put him down around midnight and he woke up again to eat at 3am and then again around 7. So then I went back to the old schedule but now, for some reason he has gone up another feeding a day (from 5 to 6) and I am nursing him after midnight, putting him down around 2am and he is waking up restless at 4 - we put him into bed with us and he sleeps until 6 something - eats again, back to sleep for a fewhours and then the day begins with him eating every 3 hrs.
I am SO BEYOND EXHAUSTED as I am only getting a total of 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night every night with only 2 hour stretches at most. I thought it was just a phase but now it seems to be continuing and I just don't know what to do. I'm wondering if maybe he isnt getting enough to eat? Maybe it is something I am eating that is causing him to be so restless? Or, maybe it is the dry air here in a house compared to our apt? Or maybe just the changing schedules constantly that has him off? I am going to ask my ped about it at ds's visit this week but thought you BTDT mommmies would have some input that might save me If you've read this far...thank you....and please excuse the rambling...I haven't been able to think straight in days!
ETA: DS is 15 wks today...if that makes a difference :) Also, he is still in a bassinett in our room. We planned on having him in his crib last week but, for those of you who read my bellini post - that has been delayed because the stupid crib came smelling of varnish and we are still trying to get the smell out of his room!
