sleeping problem at one month
DD sleeps pretty well at night, but during the day, she will fall asleep in my arms. If I put her down she lasts 15 minutes and then she wakes up crying. it doesn't matter where I put hr down - crib, bassinet, swing, boucy seat, she wakes up within 15 minutes. Withing a minute of me picking her up she stops crying. I know you can't spoil a newborn, but it sures seems like she's spoiled! Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions how to correct this? I love holding her and cuddling her, but is it the right thing to hold her all day long? I don't want to start bad habits, especially since I a going back to work in about 2 months.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

2 months is a relatively long time from now. I say hold her. The only thing I suggest is that if she is content laying down, leave her. If she wants to be held, hold her.
Good luck

Newborns love to be held and you should take advantage of while you can. Before you know it she will be wiggling out of your arms and asserting her independence.
However, If you are tired of carrying her, try the baby bjorn or a sling. They love love love that closeness and you'll still be able to have your hands free. My DD lived in hers for the first 3 months.

Sounds like she is a perfectly healthy baby girl with a secure bond. Thousands of years of evolution tells her she is safest in mommy's arms!

I was thinking the same thing. Let the house work go and the phone ring - hold her for as long as you can!

Re: sleeping problem at one month
Since she is sleeping well at night, enjoy the daytime catnaps with her and let her sleep on your chest.

Sounds like a normal newborn sleep routine to me! They make up their own at this age! Enjoy holding her!!

Re: sleeping problem at one month
Thanks everyone! I just needed some reassurance that I wasn't spoiling my dd as my MIL suggested to me!
I will gladly hold her as long as she will let me!!

Re: sleeping problem at one month
I dont have any suggestions....just sympathy. At 7 weeks, Taylor is doing the same thing. As soon as I put her down, she wakes up and cries. The only thing I can do is put her in the swing, turn it on and sometimes she will drift back to sleep from the side to side motion
