Re: please list the must have's for when baby is born!
cheapo cloth diapers to use as burp cloths, wipe diaper cream off ur hands, stop pee from flying everywhere, etc.
mylicon/ little tummies gas drops
pacifiers (ds loves soothies) and a clip on holder (I actually clip it to myself- not ds)
NEWBORN sized clothes- I don't care how many people tell u ur baby will "skip right to 3 months" size- he/she will end up with no clothes that fit for like 3 weeks if u don't get at least some nb sleep n plays/ onesies.
something for white noise and make sure it's a noise U can tolerate, lol.
diaper rash cream- for us a lot of trial and error brought us to desitin maximum strength
peewees or other absorbent paper liners for on top of the changing table or u will have to change the cover 10 zillion times.
If I think of anything else I desperately ran to BRU for in the last 5 weeks I'll add it, lol.

All my friends tell me the same thing make sure I get newborn sized clothing. Than 0-3 months is way too big even on larger babies.

Eh, no matter how much u prepare u will still end up sending dh to bru and bbb 10 times in the first week, lol.
If I could re-do my whole registry w/ the hindsight of having baby now I would change so much. Also, I would change a lot of the clothes I bought him. I was so focused on cutesy name brand things like baby's first polo, etc I didn't realize that none of that stuff is even really functional. U wants snaps and zippers and u want feet, lol . I would just change the ratio to something like 90% sleep n plays and onesies etc and 10% jeans type things. Oh and a few sweatsuits have been helpful for trips in the car to the ped and gma's house.

Re: please list the must have's for when baby is born!
I don't think it's been mentioned but you will definitely need burp cloths! Last time I got the 12 packs of the plain white ones from Dundee. I think that's the brand. They make great rags when you are done with them

Re: please list the must have's for when baby is born!
Definitely small tub of vaseline, baby thermometer (my dr's office prefers a rectal temp for accuracy), infant tylenol and those glycerin suppositories for constipation. You can cut them in half for newborns...

Re: please list the must have's for when baby is born!
For infants: gowns and really good swaddle blankets!
Here's my take on it: We got so many onesies, but hardly use them, maybe will use them more in summer. I so much prefer putting DS in a gown, easy diaper change and easy to dress and undress him.
I cannot tell you the importance of a really good swaddling blanket. We got a ton of receiving blankets but most of them are served better as burp cloths. Only one I use is a nice lightweight flannel one, from swaddle designs. I just ordered 3 more, DS swaddled almost all day in them.

I can't seem to get DS' head through those gowns, lol. Maybe he just has a big head. They're all the same brand though- a 3 pack I got- maybe another brand would work for us. I should try it again.
Also, I agree about receiving blankets. Unless u swaddle (and aren't using a safety blanket) they are pretty much useless.

Re: please list the must have's for when baby is born!
Diapering/Hygene *Diapers *White Petroleum Jelly (for the circumcism). *Aquafor for any rashes/redness *Scent Free Disposable Washclothes for diaper changes/sponge baths * Disposable Changing pad covers --- for changing, after a bath, etc... * Nail File - you cannot cut their nails for a few weeks but man do they get sharp! So you need to file. * Alcohol Pads for belly buttons * Purell in EVERY ROOM. They even sell purell wipes in individual packages for your poketbook. * Doctors mask (in case you or DH get the sniffles. I got sick within 2 weeks of delivery. My body was completely run down)
Nutrition * Bottles * Formula * Pitcher for formula (if you use powder) * Nursery Water or other bottled water (if you use powder) * Burp Cloths and Lap Pads. Bibs were humongous for the first month or so.
Clothing: *Gowns *Preemie Clothes (you are having twins, so they may be smaller. My DS was 6 lbs 4 oz and 18" long and he fit into Preemie for 3 weeks) * Mitts * Booties/socks * hats * Blankets
Gear: * Car Seat & Base * Somewhere for babies to sleep/rest (moses basket/basinet/cradle/mini-pack n play, swing). They don't need it all the minute they are born. Just make sure you have something portable in case you want to move them from room to room with you * Bathtub w/ mesh sling or body sponge. Newborns are soo slippery and the sling helped a ton.
