Re: Please post your Thanksgiving Side Dishes...
I got this from the kraft website and make it every year, it's easy and yummy
Mallow-Topped Sweet Potato Bake
Ingredients: 30 JET-PUFFED Marshmallows, divided 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 3/4 tsp. salt 3 cans (15 oz. each) sweet potatoes, drained
Directions: PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Place 6 of the marshmallows, butter, cinnamon and salt in medium saucepan; cook on low heat until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently. Place in large bowl of electric mixer. ADD sweet potatoes; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Spoon into lightly greased 1-1/2-quart baking dish; top with remaining marshmallows. BAKE 15 to 20 minutes or until sweet potato mixture is heated through and marshmallows are lightly browned.

Thanks ladies!
I was looking for a marshmallow topped sweet potato dish - thanks Jess!
Justme4u - I would love the stuffed mushroom recipe!
Thanks so much everyone!!!
We're having 24 people (my family and his) - 8 are kids...
I'm thinking two 14-15 pound turkeys...
mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes
corn
creamed spinach
green bean casserole
glazed carrots
Do I need to make the sides big enough to feed everyone?

Re: Please post your Thanksgiving Side Dishes...
Stuffed Mushrooms
3 boxes of whole mushrooms 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 cup bread crumbs 1 onion chopped butter sweet italian sausage meat the pattys if you can find if not i get the skinny preemio kind and take the meat out of the casings
Take stems off of mushroooms and with a small spoon spoon out the insides of mushrooms without breaking them Chop stems and insides of mushrooms i use a food processer for this in frying pan fry sausage meat and break with wooden spoon as it cooks ( if you have a food processer u can chop up the meat once its cooked)
in a separate pan over medium heat melt 2 tblsp butter
add chopped onion, cook till softened about 5-10 minutes stirriing as you cook place mushrooms on cookie sheet or baking tray in a mixing bowl, mix sausage meat and onion, cheese, and bread crumbs together. You can now taste it and see if you want to add more cheese ore breadcrumbs before you fill the mushrooms
fill each mushroom with mixture.sprinkle parm cheese over the mushrooms.place a little dab of butter on each mushroom or you can drizzle olive oil over the tops of the mushrooms, i prefer the butter, i think its gives better flavor
bake at 350* oven for 30 minutes but start to check these at 20 mintues and every 5 mintues thereafter as ovens vary. when you see these browned its time for them to come out . they can cook very fast because they aren't that big but it depends on the oven
when i made these for the first time i made a smaller batch with a roasting chicken dinner to see how they came out. they are so good and everyone requests them every year on thaknsgiving
hope you like them!

Re: Please post your Thanksgiving Side Dishes...
Green bean casserole - I make it the traditional way, and a gluten free way since one of my sisters is Celiac.
Mashed potatos
Yams (I change up every year how I make them)
Avocado and tomato salad
Cornbread/Chestnut Stuffing
Fresh Cranberry Sauce
Usually some other sort of veggie, I always decide at the last minute

We usually have no less than 25 people, and usually get a 19-22lb turkey which is always more than enough.
