Please recommend a Caribbean Island
Since we bought a new place last year that needed tons of work & everyone we knew got married, had a baby or got engaged ($$$$$$)...we have not been on vacation since our HM in Nov 06...
We want to plan something for Oct/Nov - can you recommend an island that you enjoyed. We would prefer all inclusive - but any suggestions to get some ideas right now are welcomed.
Oh and nothing in Mexico...I have been there a few times and have ALWAYS gotten sick (my stomach does NOT do well there)
TIA

We love, love love any of the Sandals in Jamacia. They are adult only, I don't know if you wanted to bring your baby. We really enjoyed the beaches, food and activities and we didn't get sick.

Re: Please recommend a Caribbean Island
Barbados (beautiful with lots of culture and great food / beaches)
Nevis (we will be going there in June and looks great. VERY low key though and that may not be your thing)
Bermuda (not the Caribbean but gorgeous)

Re: Please recommend a Caribbean Island
We've returned to Jamaica every Nov or Dec for our anniversary the past 4 years. We always stay at Couples all-inclusive resorts; our favorite is Couples Negril. They are IMO affordably priced, and were ranked #1 all inclusive in the Carribean. They include much more than the Sandals resorts in terms of scuba diving, parasailing, etc. FM with any questions! And I agree with Mexico--I will NEVER return! I've had no problem whatsoever with the food or water in Jamaica, and the food at Couples is 5-star quality.

Re: Please recommend a Caribbean Island
For that time of year, I would recommend Aruba (since it's still technically during the hurricane season).

we are going there in december - my god, we got a great price!
they were offering deals on the sandals website and we booked airfare through them which was SO cheap - and nonstop b/c i don't do well w/ the flying! we are super excited. check out the sandals website - you can go on and look at ALL the properties, choose which one you want and look at prices - we got a 50% off deal! and it was awesome to be able to compare the prices and compare locations!
i've heard great things about bermuda also and they offer awesome cruises there. DH has been to antigua and LOVED it there - sandals also has a property there. i have also heard wonderful things about turks & caicos.
HTH!

Re: Please recommend a Caribbean Island
Not many all-inclusive options, but we love the BVI...there are a few all-inclusives, but we enjoyed the smaller hotels as well as the all-inclusives...we rented a sailboat and sailed for 2 weeks around the islands and it was awesome...

Re: Please recommend a Caribbean Island
Hi, we went to Aruba for our HM in February and had the best time ever!! We did ATVs, took a jeep tour, tried windsurfing, shopped in the town, and spent an evening on the Kukoo Kunuku bus...we stayed at Divi All Inclusive. The food was about what you'd expect for AI (we ate at the little pizza bar every day), but the beach was AMAZING and right outside our room. The other beaches seemed a little more crowded. I hope this helps you, and if you have any more questions...feel free to ask!! GL and have a great trip!
