Please recommend a loan officer at Chase to refinance a mortgage...
We can save a lot with lower interest rates, we need someone who we can trust and steer us in the right direction. Can someone recommend a nice, down to earth, trustworthy loan officer at Chase? Thank you in advance.

We talked to Derek Fields from Commack and he was great to work with. We ended up not refinancing, but not his fauilt.

I just spoke to Jay. Thanks for the recommendation. What a pleasure it was to talk to him.
I found out that I am eligible for the HARP program which makes underwriting more streamlined and cheaper. When calling the 800 number they didn't tell me that. mad:
He is even talking to his Wells Fargo friend about what if anything can be done with my AZ property that is so underwater it doesn't qualify for the HARP program.

Very prompt and courteous.
516-670-0617. If you email him he can work up numbers even on the weekend.
Not sure this number transfers to a cell.
Looks like I may refi with him.

Thanks for hooking a sister up. He was so much more informative than anyone on the 800 line. Staying with Chase is the right move I think for us.

I know this is pretty old but I just got a call from chase they we're eligible for HARP. But the rate and closing costs weren't really impressive. Anyway, I was about to e-mail Jay since 2 people had good experiences with him. Can I give him someone's name as a referral? TIA!

Yes, tell him Evan from the Cedarhurst branch sent you (that's my DH). He was the one that originally referred Diana (Iansmommy) to him, they work together. Good luck!

Overall, very happy with the outcome.
I ended up a reasonable rate, saved a load of moolah and generally had a good experience.
I learned a lot too.
