Belmont Park in Babylon. It's really pretty, has a lake, a walking trial and you can even rent boars and such.

Re: Please recommend a park for a family picnic
DH's family has their annual picnic at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford/Wantagh. It has a playground and ball fields, trails, etc. You can BBQ there with permits I think. They also used to go to Wantagh Park, which is nice also.

Re: Please recommend a park for a family picnic
We just had a family reunion at Hoyt Farm in Commack. They have picnic tables, BBQs, and 2 different parks. One has water stuff and one is just a playground. There is also a big field for frisbee or something and a baseball/softball field. There is also a trail that takes you back where there are animals and a museum.
There was lots to do!!
