please recommend pool gear for my 17 month old

we are going to DW in two weeks and I need to buy pool gear for my DS. He has never been in a pool and I don't know what buy.... a life vest, baby float, swimmies...a combination of two? I am clueless.

If he's never been in a pool, I would get a float that he can stick his legs thru & one where he just sits in the boat and doesnt touch the water (incase he hates the pool).

I just bought a bunch of stuff for my 22 month old at Island Recreational very cheap.

swimmies are good, but might be too big for his arms.
