Please recommend your pet hair vaccuum
My carpets have accumulated so much cat hair that my Oreck vacuum just won't pick up. I'm searching for some thing that's not crazy expensive. What do you recommend? TIA

I use a handheld shark designed for pet hair and it works SO well.

I was going to post something similar. We have all wood floors but one big area rug. My Oreck is seriously BAD with pet hair on the rug - doesn't pick it up at all.
I had a 30% off coupon to Kohls and thought about getting a new vacuum there - a few of them are supposedly designed for pet hair.
No advice but I'd also love to hear recommendations. After a while it seems like the hair gets woven right into the rug and it'll never come out

I think we have the Dyson Animal 
It works, though it's a bit heavy for carrying up and down the stairs.

We have the dyson animal (works great, but is $$$). Also have the handheld shark designed for pet hair.

After trying about 10 different vacuums dh broke me down and we ordered the dyson animal from amazon. It was on sale for $399 with free S&H. Expensive but its gotten rave reviews.
