Please say a prayer for me.
I saw the genetics counselor and while thankfully she we really nice and explained a lot in detail, she gave us a pretty grim outlook. She was very concerned about nuchal fold measurement (it's 4.8). She thinks that there is a slim possibility the baby is healthy and more likely pointing at serious issues. And not just downs but a whole slew of other problems. I'm heartbroken and just devastated.
I'm having CVS Tuesday and FISH. If you ever believed in miracles and prayer, can you please say a prayer.
And has anyone had a measurement that big and everything was fine? At this point I'm really just preparing myself for the worst, which it sounds like is very likely at this point.
Thanks for listening. This is really the only support network I have since so few people even know I'm pregnant.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.
One of my best friends was told she had a 1 in 50 chance her baby had downs after the nt scan and bloodwork. She did a noninvasive test through the DNA that can tell you with 99% accuracy what is going on. It came back normal and she has a healthy baby now. A lot of her new mom friends also were told they had a high chance of downs and they all have healthy babies.
Hoping you get the answers with the additional tests.

I have been through the same thing - I am surprised the counselor was so grim.
I have heard the results of the NT are only 60% accurate.
The CVS will be a much better indicator. My NT was over 5 and everything was fine! It is so stressful though. I know A LOT of people who have had high NT and nothing wrong with their babies.

does that include the blood work too? Because that came back awful as well.
And thanks girls. I'm trying to be positive but after meeting with this counselor I feel like my hope is fading away. This sucks.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I had an abnormal NT Scan with my first, though I don't remember the numbers, and it is not an easy thing to cope with. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
