Please say a prayer for my DH if you can (and for me too!)
..he leaves for afghanistan tomorrow. I am heartbroken.
It will be 6 long months without him. He is truly my best friend, the best father and husband anyone could ask for. I don't know how I will manage without him, but I know I will get through it somehow.
If you are religious, a quick prayer would be wonderful. If you aren't , please just keep him in your thoughts...he is not out there fighting, however he'll be working 6 months straight with not ONE day off.
I am sad for my boys who adore him more than anything...but we do get to skype which is at least something. He comes home thanksgiving day. The time can't move fast enough till then...

Well as my best friend since we're little, you know i'll be relying on you!! We better get out for dinner soon...and you cannot allow me to cry a lot, i've done enough of that this past week to make up for a lifetime...lol..

Thanks to everyone for the support and kind words...
It's crazy to go through this. I honestly do not know how military families do it. These men and women who go to these places to fight for things we all take for granted..it's just amazing and an incredible sacrifice that they make.
So many memorial days have gone by where I can sadly admit i don't do much thinking about it. Not because I don't care, it's because its VERY easy to remove yourself when something doesn't seem to personally involve you.
However...so many families who say goodbye to dad or mom time and time again so their parent can go and fight for what is right in this world and so others can live in peace.
My husband is doing a small part in this war. (Although to me it is HUGE). May he and ALL those fighting or working as contractors, analysts, intelligence fields etc. come home safe and may we never forget what they all do!

Your DH is a great guy. Thank you so much for DH and to you too! Its going to be hard but by the time you know it he will be back for Thanksgiving. Lots of prayers for you and your DH (and your boys)
