No, my 10yo DS did not get one, either. He's said that very few, if any, of his classmates have phones.

Not alone - My 10yo didn't get one either. We told him he might get a phone before middle school next year but if Momma doesn't have an iPhone there is no way he will be getting one.

EXACTLY my point, they can't bring it to school or activities and when they are home they face time from their iPods

Nope, not getting one. I just got one recently. There is no reason a child that young even needs a phone.

My 10 year old didn't. He is, however, getting one for his 5th grade graduation in June, as long as he continues to be a good student and a kind, thoughtful person.
