I cant say, never been pregnant just sending HUGS.
I work with prenatal so I witness this many times a day

Thank you. I'm thrilled to be pregnant just the amount of meds I'm taking, the 24 hour needle in my stomach and the Ivs are killing me. I'm 12 weeks today. Only 6 months to go.

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I hate pregnancy. I'm sorry. It's the truth. I really do.
But I love having kids. I love my babies. I want more. I have a 12 week old and already I want another, soon.
So the whole cliched "it's worth it in the end" part? So so so true. And if this is your second let me tell you - I have enjoyed these early weeks/months with my 2nd child SO MUCH MORE because I'm more relaxed and confident. It's worth it.

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
Honestly, my favorite part was waking up in tbe middle of the night in the hospital the night after she was born and realizing I wasn't pregnant anymore. It took a second to remember when I woke up and I remember to this day the euphoric feeling. I felt so free and my body felt like my own again. My belly was gone! I was sleeping on my stomach! It was heaven!
So I am no help! Hang in there!

12 weeks with your second it won't be terribly long before your start feeling those flutters!
I'll go against the others and say I enjoy being pregnant. It makes me sad to think I'll most likely never experience it again. It's such a special and short lived experience. My first was two weeks late and I loved sitting back and watching my belly move and jump toward the end. My second was a month early, she didn't move a lot, and eventually my body wasn't doing its job and she had to come out. I felt so cheated and two years later I still feel cheated and regret not getting the full experience I expected and not going for a third like we'd always planned.
Obviously I'm sure I'd feel somewhat different if I were seriously ill the whole time but it still is a blessing and of course the end result is worth it.

I focus on the finishing line knowing I get a beautiful baby out of it. I'm staring at my beautiful dd and knowing the minute this one is born my body goes back to normal and the HG stops. I've made it to 12 weeks and I'll make it through the next 28 weeks.

Zofran.
I can't offer any positives, but I can sympathize. I also had HE. I never want to be pregnant again. So much so that I don't ever want another baby. For some of us, it just sucks.

It took me 4 years to overcome the debilitating fear to go through this again. I'm on the zofran pump, dicegles, and phenergan right now with an IV every couple of days. With my dd I didn't need a pic line but I think I'm heading that way with this one. It's hard because no one really understands unless they have had HG. Even the Drs look at me and ask me what I want next. Dh is getting neutered after this one is born and I hope to God dd never goes through this.
I will be holding this over both my children's head for their entire lives. It's my right for all the suffering.

I loved nothing about being pregnant. I love that my girls are the result and I'd do it all over again for them.

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
HI, I also had HG. I think for me it was the flutters and baby kicks which you don't get to feel when not pg. also having a baby at the end. I completely understand the fear. I had that too. That fear of being so deathly ill again for subsequent pregnancy did not go away. Although i was ale to have a second kid without HG I almost died for my first. I had lost vision. It was really bad so I completely understand and you are so right, no one but others who have been so ill really get it. Not even my ob really got it. Sorry. Good luck and hugs.

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I totally empathize with you. Despite the meds for HG I visited L&D several time for IV fluids and nutrients. I remember having to park by the bushes at work so when I got out of the car I could run behind them and throw up.
I know this isn't helpful, but you're not alone and you're allowed to be miserable. Not everyone is all butterflies and rainbows during pregnancy, as you can see from this thread. Don't feel bad about feeling bad. Your feelings are completely valid. Big hugs to you, hang in there.

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I loved being pregnant! I didn't always have easy pregnancies, but the best part, for me, was feeling my baby move inside. I loved being able to "take my baby everywhere" and rub my tummy when I was having a rough day. Try to focus on the positives!

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I loved being pregnant. I will say I had a fairly easy pregnancy so that helped but the whole thing astounds me. I know it's stupid and there's literally babies born every second, but I felt superhuman to be able to create life and even more after being able to nurse her and watch her grow and thrive with only my body. I loved reading every day about how baby was developing and how big they were, imaging what they'd look like, act like once they arrived, feeling movement, constantly having little one with you. I also felt people were just nicer to me, in general. People at work who I never got along with were suddenly so sweet and accommodating. People on the street would see my belly and smile. People on the subway would.... sometimes at the end of the pregnancy anyway... give up their seat. It is so much harder in the beginning when you're sick and tired and nobody knows yet. That's when it really sucks. It gets better from here out. And then it gets kinda crappy again. And then they're here!

Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I didn't mind being pregnant until about 7.5-8 months hit- then the swelling started for me and I became miserable. But before that I loved feeling him move around and I loved my belly (it was a great resting place for my plate ) lol

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
Besides the terrible nausea early on, I mostly really enjoy pregnancy. I like feeling movement and the baby's kicks getting stronger as time goes on. Imagining what he looks like and what the birth will be like. Exciting!!

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I can understand feeling this way, especially with HG.
What do I love about being pregnant? Honestly, a lot. Most of all, I love knowing I can GROW A BABY!!!
I really don't let the negatives get to me, honestly I don't. I am just thrilled to be able to be pregnant and praying until the day my baby is in my arms.

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
I loved certain things about my pregnancies --- feeling them move in there, knowing they are safe, belly rubs, wondering what they will look like, shopping and nesting, getting waited on by DH, the excitement of it all. There is so much terribleness in this world, but welcoming a new baby is so wonderful.
Though I didn't have such awful sickness as you, I did hate a lot of things about being pregnant. That said, having gone into preterm labor and having my DD two months early, I miss being pregnant so much and honestly feel a little cheated. Try to enjoy what you can of it!

This is exactly how I feel and you worded it so much better than I could have. You are allowed to hate this.
And OP, it is definitely your right to hang this over your kids' heads forever. Whenever DD asks why she doesn't have a sibling I'm going to tell her all the specifics

The movement? They've been wiggling around recently, and it is kind of surreal, this alien pod. I'm glad I get to experience it.
Otherwise, it's just about the result for me. I am kind of physically miserable (also hyperemetic among other discomforts)

Re: Please tell me everything you love about pregnancy.
My favorite thing is looking up & reading on how they change every week. It really is incredible & we are lucky to be able to carry these babies.
For negatives, I've experienced hemorrhoids, sciatic pain, horrible reflux, preg hernia, pupps, premature contractions at 7 months, extreme exhaustion but it's all worth it.
