Not sure about Dr T but have you been diagnosed with immune issues? If so when you did your last IVF or IUI cycle what meds were you on post transfer?

no I have not but one of my new consults it was mentioned to rule out since I have a hx of auto immune diseases and a family hx of still births and miscarriage, all on my mothers side.
nothing ever makes it to a transfer, after I was always on PIO and estrogen, or estrogen leading up then PIO

Every patient is different so he will cater the blood work according. With him I only had NK and DQ alpha testing, which is the uncommon testing that REs do not normally do. I had all of those other tests via RS of NY and I think Palter did my Counsyl test that does the genetic parts including the MTHFR.

I had most or all of those and maybe more with my first RE. I think they were under the recurrent loss panel. It was 17 tubes of blood I believe. Those were before my FET. The only things that showed up were low vitamin D and slightly high prolactin. I was already on vitamin D and I started Cabergoline for high prolactin. After that FET failed I asked about further testing but my RE did not believe further immune testing was necessary or valid.
I went to SIRM. I told Dr. T I definitely wanted immune testing. He sent me for NK cells (natural killer) and DQ Alpha testing. DH also had to get the DQ Alpha testing. They test to see if you and DH are a match or a partial match. DH and I turned out to be a partial match. Finally some sort of answer.
Personally I would get tested for everything. Thats what I did. You name it I asked for a test on it. GL

You're miss int the testing for NK cells and DQ alpha. These have to be sent out to reprosource not done at quest.

My doctor also tested for Th1/Th2 cytokines ratio. If your ratio is shifted toward Th1 it causes inflammation within the body.

omg, ok, I just got Dr T intake form and I see he does ask about the tests mentioned by both of you. ok, Im not going panic, I was trying to get some of the blood work done to have in place bc time is ticking. I can call and get those added.
BUT my list is all part of the immune panel?
Do you know if insurance covers these tests, NK DQ etc?
this is why I think I cant take it anymore...
TIA

some I had done, but most no
most of these I had done by my prev RE especially the TSH, prolactin levels. I had many of those done above although I forgot specifically which ones but most. Dr. T said my homocysteine levels were high and since I have a common MTHFR mutation he put me on FOLGARD- higher folic acid.
DR. T is testing me for NK cells and DQ Alpha as well as my husband. those are the two main tests that many RE don't or will not test. They are not covered by insurance although they do give discounted prices through Empire and GHI. GHI higher cost than Empire. I emailed the girl at SIRM to get a cost estimate before I go in on the 22nd to have this testing.
Dr T is also doing a hysteroscopy to check for scar tissue etc. during that time I am also getting an endometrial function test- that is not covered by insurance about $600 but it will check to see if I am able to implant or not.

I have GHI. I think i paid around $600. I know the price was discounted. There is a pay now price they send to you from Reprosource. This was for NK cells for me and DQ alpha for me and dh.
