I feel like they just say this every week now to cover their butts. I'm pretty sure it's way too early to determine this soon! Wasn't Tuesday's ice storm being declared "the worst storm to come!" a little over a week ago?
For the nation as a whole it was pretty bad - covered several states with massive amounts of snow, ice, wind, etc. We were lucky and dodged the bullet this time.

Oh, I know-I'm talking about local reporters who were saying it was going to be that for us. I know it's hard to predict exactly what's going to happen with any storm, I just feel like every week we're hearing threats of "the worst storm of the year"

my husband is dsny and he has had one day off since christmas..other wise 7pm to 7 am 7 days a week..
if this comes i will not see him till march lol

I've gotten kind of "whatever" about it. We'll stock up on food, wood and if it happens I'll work from home in my pj's with the wood stove going, DH on the couch recuperating and dogs that won't want to come in from playing in the snow.
I've already booked the kid down the street to come shovel.
I know I'm luckier than others, I get to work from home.

I have done my share of complaining about the weather, But, and I know I am in the minority on this, I actually kind of HOPE we get one more big storm.... makes me appreciate Spring and Summer all the more

I have done my share of complaining about the weather, But, and I know I am in the minority on this, I actually kind of HOPE we get one more big storm.... makes me appreciate Spring and Summer all the more
If schools are canceled, I dont mind it. When they arent canceled and driving conditions are unsafe, I have two choices
1) Risk mine and my children's safety by being in a car to take them to day care and me to work which scares me to death.
or
2)Call in sick and stay home which effectively costs me money and I lose a day that I will need to care for them when they are actually sick.
Storms are ok on the weekends only.

Storms are ONLY OK when "I" don't work. DS' school closed or me not working = no pay
I don't have sick days or vacations to use. So snow DOES $uck for me. But I won't complain. What's the point? I really cannot change this weather.

I also heard the buzz of snow at the grocery store, some emplyees were discussing it. They didnt say how much just alotguess we wont know till it hits...
