Please tell me what Robitussen and Mucinex has to do with TTC?
If you have a cold does that hinder your chances of TTC? I never read anything about that.

Alot of women use Mucinex or Robitussin to help w/ cervical mucus dryness. Esp if on fertility drugs like clomid

I know a few girls who swear by it-I think it think it thins the mucus so they have an easier "journey"...

The theory is that it helps to thin out and loosen cervical mucus which helps the spermies get to their destination.
I used Mucinex one month and got my BFP so I believe it.

No, when you ovulate, you are sticky. From what I was told, it thins it a bit so they have less barriers on their way up there.

That was extremely interesting. Who knew!? Is it a cough medicine or is it a cervical mucus thinner? So if you have a cold while TTC- this is the way to go.
Thank you for the info ladies

Re: Please tell me what Robitussen and Mucinex has to do with TTC?
There's a thread on here about the different kinds of CM. As you get closer to ovulation, your CM becomes wetter, more slippery and stretchy - just before you ovulate it should resemble raw egg whites. It shouldn't be 'sticky' - as in rubber cement-like consistency. You might get like that before or after O'ing, but sperm get stuck in sticky CM and can't swim through it, so it's not conducive to their survival.
PLAIN Robitussen is a decongestant which loosens up your mucus in your lungs, chest, nose, etc - it has the same effect on the mucus at your cervix. But be careful - you should only take plain Robitussen, the kind with guaifenesin as it's SOLE active ingredient. Other kinds may contain antihistamines, which actually dry you up instead. Also, Robitussen won't make MORE CM, it only loosens up what you already have.
Hope that helps!
