Please think good thoughts for Moochie UPDATE in first post
My mom's dog Moochie is in the hospital with acute kidney failure. The vet is not sure of the cause; right now they are just keeping him hydrated and he seems to be doing a little better but is still not out of the woods. He was able to keep down some food today but he pulled out his tube so they could not do today's kidney function test. His mood is very low and the vet is also worried about that.
My mom's only had Moochie since late July. She got him from a shelter and he's only about 3. She lost both her dogs earlier this year. They were both old but it was still terribly hard. I hate to think that she might lose this little guy already. Please send get well vibes. I'd really appreciated it.
UPDATE 10.3.06 My mom visited Moochie at the vet today- he's getting some of his energy back and he's been eating. The vet is cautiously optimistic- they're just waiting on results from his last kidney function test, which will be ready tomorrow.
Oh noo!!! That freaks me out being that Molly only has one kidney. IS this in both of his kidneys or just one? Will they take out the other kidney if they have to?

Lepto comes from other infected animals like possums and even rabbits. If your pet has any kind of abrasion, please be careful! That's how it gets into the bloodstream. However, there is a vaccine. It seems that Moochie has a nasty strain, so we still don't know if he's going to make it.
