Pls. give me some more ideas on what to send into daycare for Lunches..
DD is 15 months old and eats PASTA !! she won't eat meat, I try every few days. I feel bad sending her with pasta everday, I make them different types, butter, with broccoli, with sauce, cold pasta with veggies, I use Whole Wheat pasta, so it is not just white flour, but I need something different, for breakfast I send her with fruit, waffles or pancake - does that get boring EVERYDAY ? I only make her eggs once in a while, not her favorite either.

Will she eat yogurt for breakfast? What about the cereal bars or for lunch....veggie sticks w/ a dip or a cheese on crackers. I teach Pre-K & most of my kids have the same thing day in/day out b/c its all they'll eat.

I can definately try cheese and crackers, I would think of that more as a snack, but I think it will do for lunch.
Thanks !!

My DD loves the Baby Goldfish crackers and they actually are pretty healthy for a snack. Paired with some mozzeralla cheese and some broccholi and my DD is in heaven.

I try to vary lunch for DD also. I make her toast with a little all fruit spread (jelly) and she loves that. I also make her soup & mash up some veggies in it so it's a little thicker. We also do cheese and crackers with cut up skinned and peeled grapes....like her own little wine party. DD also has yogurt with graham crackers, cottage cheese with fruit or grilled cheese.
For breakfast, DD eats waffles, whole wheat pancakes, cheerios with banana and milk, oatmeal with applesauce, farina, french toast, egg with cheese or corn muffin with juice.
ETA: DD is 14 months old and will eat anything but a bird sized portion. Makes me nuts

Breakfast we szend them with French toast, a waffle, or oatmeal, with a banana and yogurt every day. If I am out of yogurt I send them with an extra fruit like applesauce.
Lunch I send them with a protein, veggie and fruit every day.
PB & J, Mac and cheese, Chicken Nuggets, Cheese Stick, Hot dog (nitrate free), at home they eat eggs or grilled cheese, pizza.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it.
Here are some idea's though...
Pastina in chicken broth with carrots (you can also put in chicken)
Melba toast with either cheese or butter. We have this with grapes and/or yogurt.
Bagels with butter or fruit spread.
Gerber sells the lil meals... I haven't tried them, but they look good.

DD's favorite meal right now is rice & beans. I buy the 7-minute spanish rice in the package (not spicy at all) and throw in some canned (rinsed) black beans.
Stop & Shop's brand, Nature's Promise, sells a package of organic frozen mixed vegetables that are cut up into perfect toddler sized pieces. I send about a quarter of a cup of those to daycare for lunch every single day. She loves it & it's super easy. No additives or preservatives either.
Cut up grapes or melon every day for snack.
String cheese or the new cheese crumbles (3-cheese mix).
pasta, perogies, baked chicken.

You can definately make all kinds of different things with pastas ---- with different sauces, shapes of pasta, etc. My sister makes all kinds of homemade "pesto" sauces with spinach, brocolli, etc. Her sister loves them.
Will she eat mini raviolis? Grilled CHeese?
For breakfast what about homemade french toast sticks? I used my christmas cookie cutters overy the weekend to make fun shaped french toast. What about the gerber breakfast bars?

I am actually shocked that you have to send your kids in with all their foods. Its shocking really...the amount of money that you pay for daycare, they could feed your kids!
