pls post pics of landscaping (acting as prvacy screen)

We can't put up a fence and want to make a privacy screen in our side yard. I was looking for some ideas to make it look soft and natural but still creating a screen. Thanks so much!

Starkies in Farmingdale have these trees and are perfect for what you are looking for.

At Starkies they are $25 each.

This is what they look like

We planted Privet for privacy in our yard. I don't like evergreens in general and I like the look of privet when it is manicured.

Re: pls post pics of landscaping (acting as prvacy screen)

I already have two lines of arborvitae shrubs for that purpose (put in by the prev homeowner). My neighbor put in those leyland cypress that are in that link, and they look nice too.

I wanted more of a natural look, less contrived, so I started looking into shrubs that met my criteria - 6 feet but no more than 15 feet, some evergreen, some flowers, free flowing and not blocky and this is what I came up with:

Silver King Euonymus
Vanhoutte Spirea
Japanese Silver Grass (miscanthus)

If you go back a few pages, you'll find my thread with pictures of them. I'm also considering Winterberry, Beautyberry, and Lilacs. Sophie also suggested white Rhododendron which I thought was a good idea too.

Good luck! Chat Icon
