Plus Size Mom's to Be

When did you start noticing a real bump. Yes, I have a little something going on, but I'm sure its just my flubber (sadly). I do notice on the top its harder than your typical belly. I gather that's it, but I'm clueless. At what point will my chubby tummy turn into looking more like a preggo bump?

Re: Plus Size Mom's to Be

I didn't start to really show until almost 8 months. Before then I thought I just looked fat. My stomach did feel harder pretty early on, but unless someone was touching it they wouldn't know it was a pregnancy belly and not just my normal fat belly Chat Icon

Re: Plus Size Mom's to Be

I would say at about 4 months, you could tell I was preggo. I also wear maternity shirts, rather than just bigger shirts, so that also helps people to realize that I am preggo. Now at 21 weeks, I feel as though I really do look preggo, but since I have been a chubette for my whole life, I wonder if people that don't know me really do know that I am! Chat Icon I also had a harder belly up high earlier on. I think that's more of your organs being pushed around since the uterus is low [below the belly button] and does not start to get big enough to be that high for a few months. No worries though! You probably look adorable!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm chubby and at 17 weeks definitely look pregnant and have for a few weeks. I can tell because people have gotten up for me on the subway and you know people aren't doing that unless they are darn sure you're pregnant! Chat Icon

Re: Plus Size Mom's to Be

I have always had a fat belly, so my bump took a little longer to notice. I sure felt it though Chat Icon
Yeah, you will feel it getting harder on top and maybe your pants won't button as easily. For Chat Icon I would say I started becoming more "uncomfortable" in pants around 12-15 weeks. This time for Chat Icon it was more like 10-12 weeks.

A lot depends on how plus size you are and how you carry your weight. I never felt like I looked pregnant and never got a perfect round belly. I always what a lot of plus sizers call the "B" belly. I'm following the same this time around too. Chat Icon

So far, at 14 weeks, I just look fat. Chat Icon

I think I will really start wearing maternity tops in the next month or so, just so it's more obvious.

Re: Plus Size Mom's to Be

I am 15w3d and I have noticed that my belly has grown a lot in the last few days. I am still able to hide it @ work (only my boss & her boss knows). Some shirts will show my rounding belly & others will make it less noticable or make it look like I just gained a few lbs. I wear these shirts because I do not want any one else to know yet. However I think it will be undeniable that I am pregnant in the next few weeks. I was afraid of getting the "double belly" or the B belly, but I can tell already that I will have a nice round bellyChat Icon

Re: Plus Size Mom's to Be

I am having twins but you can see my belly pics. I just posted them today. I always had more of an hourglass figure-bigger in but and legs and smaller in the waist and i started showing around 8 weeks. At 12 or 13 weeks everfyonbe knows i am pregnant and it is round. However, I am already getting stretch marksChat Icon
